CANTON--COMMITTED TO QUALITY OF LIFE
CANTON is growing and changing. We are attracting new
business, we are attracting new residents, and we are developing our land and
re-developing our buildings. Despite the growth and the changes, one thing
remains constant: a commitment to a high standard of living full of
opportunities for those who are here to work, live and play.
HOUSING
Canton provides a high quality and diverse
housing market that includes multi-family living, condominiums, townhouses, and
single-family homes. The housing market is plentiful and pleasing to all tastes
from contemporary design to traditional architecture.
EDUCATION
When asked what attracted many of our residents
to the Canton community, the response in many cases relates to the quality of
the schools. Canton is served by three school districts: Plymouth-Canton
Community Schools, Van Buren School District, and Wayne-Westland Community
School District. Plymouth-Canton Community Schools, a district that is
comprised of 14 elementary, 5 middle, and 2 high schools, serves the major part
of the community. Students in the district consistently score higher than the
state average on the Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) and the
national average on the Standard Aptitude Test (SAT).
ARTS AND RECREATION
Canton is rich with parks and
recreational facilities that make the community not only a quality place to
live and work, but also a quality place to play. The Summit on the Park
celebrated its first anniversary and remains the talk around Canton and the
surrounding communities. In addition to five pools, gymnasium, running track,
racquetball courts, and full-service workout areas, The Summit also offers
quality banquet and meeting facilities appropriate for conferences, business
seminars, special events and receptions. In addition, Summit on the Park houses
the Canton community's Senior Center and provides programming for our
youngsters.

your fancy, take a spin around Hines Park. The Plymouth community has acres
upon acres of parkland and miles of bike trails for your outdoor amusement.
